
The Girls event at the England Open, held at Seal Bay Resort and proudly sponsored by Seal Bay Resort and One80 Darts, showcased some of the brightest young talent in the game, with Macy Gibbons producing a series of outstanding performances to lift the 2026 England Open Girls Championship.
Gibbons looked in excellent form throughout the latter stages of the competition. After overcoming Neve Turner in a closely contested last-16 encounter, averaging 66.75 in a 3-2 victory, she raised her level even further in the quarter-finals, posting a superb 74.78 average during a 3-1 win over Natalie Baxter.
The standout performance of her campaign came in the semi-finals, where she produced a tournament-best average of 72.43 to defeat Olivia Heaton 4-0. Despite Olivia averaging a respectable 59.15, Gibbons' relentless scoring and clinical finishing ensured she booked her place in the final without dropping a leg.
On the other side of the draw, Ruby Grey enjoyed an impressive run to the championship match. Grey produced the highest average of the tournament when she defeated Tiffany Cross 3-0 with a stunning 79.11 average before following up with victories over Abbi Ettridge and Lola Wheeler to secure her place in the final.
The final brought together two of the tournament's form players and delivered a contest worthy of the occasion. Gibbons maintained the high standard she had shown throughout the day, averaging 70.54 as she edged past Grey 5-3 in a competitive encounter. Grey battled hard throughout and averaged 64.86 in defeat, but Gibbons proved just too strong in the crucial moments to secure the title.
