The England National Singles Open Championship provided a spectacular conclusion to a fantastic weekend of darts at Seal Bay Resort. Sponsored by Seal Bay Resort and One80 Darts, the event attracted a quality field packed with national and county talent, producing some of the highest averages of the tournament before Harry Lane emerged as champion.
Lane's route to the title was anything but easy. After defeating Ben Harper 4-0 in the Last 32 and Brandon Richardson 4-2 in the Last 16, he faced the dangerous Jayden Jones in the quarter-finals. Both players averaged over 84 in a high-quality contest, but Lane held firm to secure a 4-2 victory and move into the last four.
Awaiting him in the semi-finals was Chas Barstow, who had been one of the standout performers of the championship. Barstow produced a remarkable 92.49 average in his Last 32 victory over Christopher Rose before averaging 93.34 in his quarter-final win against Addison Hefferon. In a superb semi-final, both players exceeded the 90 mark, with Barstow averaging 91.67 and Lane 90.52. Despite the quality on display, it was Lane who progressed with a 4-2 victory to reach the final.
The other half of the draw was equally competitive. Aaron Turner battled through a series of tough encounters, defeating Ben Simpson, Joe Croft, and Jayden Walker before edging past Paul Lewis 4-3 in a dramatic semi-final. Lewis had produced some sensational darts throughout the day, including a tournament-high 96.97 average in his Last 32 victory over Nigel Prior and a 93.85 average against Jason Yates in the quarter-finals.
The final brought together two players who had earned their places through resilience and quality performances. Turner fought hard throughout the match and averaged a solid 78.27, but Lane proved the stronger in the crucial moments. Maintaining his composure in the longer format, Lane averaged 80.17 and claimed a deserved 5-3 victory to secure the England National Singles Open title.
