The England National Singles Women's Championship delivered a fitting finale to a fantastic weekend of darts at Seal Bay Resort. Sponsored by Seal Bay Resort and One80 Darts, the event featured many of the country's leading female players, with Deta Hedman once again demonstrating her enduring class to claim the title.
Hedman was in outstanding form throughout the championship. She began her campaign with a dominant 4-0 victory over Gail Williams, averaging 84.68, before dispatching Lucy Shepherd 4-0 in the Last 16. Her quarter-final clash against Gemma Hayter proved to be one of the highest-quality matches of the tournament, with both players averaging over 82. Hedman edged the contest 4-1 with an impressive 82.89 average before continuing her march to the final with a 4-2 victory over Steph Clarke.
Clarke herself enjoyed a strong run through the event, overcoming Dee Bateman and Paula Jacklin before defeating Leanne Topper in the quarter-finals. However, Hedman's experience and scoring power proved decisive in the semi-final encounter.
The bottom half of the draw saw Rhian O'Sullivan produce a series of excellent performances to reach the final. O'Sullivan averaged 82.36 in a convincing 4-0 victory over Chelsea Campbell before defeating Isabelle Cochrane, Macy Gibbons, and then Eve Watson to secure her place in the championship match.
Eve Watson once again demonstrated her quality during the event, battling through a difficult section of the draw and overcoming Olivia Heaton in the quarter-finals. Watson's semi-final appearance continued an excellent weekend that saw her feature prominently across several events.
The final brought together two of the most consistent performers of the tournament. O'Sullivan pushed Hedman all the way in a high-quality contest, averaging an excellent 81.16. However, Hedman found another gear when it mattered most, producing an outstanding 85.72 average to secure a 5-3 victory and add the England National Singles Women's title to her remarkable list of achievements.
