The 2008 Men's squad has been changed from the original selection, following an accident sustained by Gary Fenn of Derbyshire.

Gary had made the squad for the first time and was due to make his debut at the Lakeside v Europe on the 22nd & 23rd March (see details of this match on the England v Europe Page), unfortunately he was involved in a car accident travelling home from the last Inter-County match. His car was written off and both Gary and his wife Dee suffered whip lash injuries (the other driver has accepted full liability), sadly for Gary he was taken to hospital and an x-ray showed he had also suffered a broken ankle.

Gary told Team Manager, Peter Melton, "the moment they told me that I had a broken ankle both Dee and myself broke down in tears as we knew my dreams had been shattered"

Gary is now in plaster but does intend to still go to both the England v Europe match and the British Internationals on the 5th & 6th April.

The replacement player for Gary is Kev Simm of Cheshire, Kev has been the stand by player for the past two seasons and whilst obviously delighted at his call up, he said "I am pleased to get the chance but would not have wished it to have come about under these circumstances and I wish Gary a full and speedy recovery".
