The 2010 event will be played at the Grand Haber Hotel, Sehit Polis,Cemal Ilgaz Cad 8, 7980 Kemer, Antalya, Turkey.

The competition starts on Thursday 14th October with the finals being played on Saturday 16th October.

After performing very well to reach the Ladies singles final, in her first ever Europe Cup finals, she missed a few doubles and had to settle for the silver medal after losing to Louise Hepburn.

Finals day started with a win from Lisa Ashton in the semi finals of the Ladies Singles with a victory over Susanna Young (Scotland) to book her place in the final against the other Scottish player, Louise Hepburn.

Martin Adams finished up with a bronze medal after losing in the semi-final to reigning Europe Cup Singles Champion, Mark Webster (Wales).

The best result came in the final match of the morning as the men's pairing of Martin Adams and John Walton took the Title and the Gold medal with a 4 - 1 win over Finnish pair Kantele & Komula. This is the third time Martin has won the Europe Cup pairs and they have all been with different partners (Andy Fordham, Mervyn King & John Walton).

The men were in action in the singles in the morning and their reports are :-

Martin Adams - Beat Oyvind Aasland (Norway), Martin Phillips (Wales), Paul Hanvidge (Scotland) and Andreas Krockel (Germany) to move into the semi-finals against Mark Webster (Wales) on finals day.

Darryl Fitton - Lost his first game 1 -4 to Jarkko Kumula, Jarkko including a 142 shot out at the crucial stage of the match.

Tony O'Shea - After beating Justin Broton (Gibraltar) and Pascal Barbezot (Switzerland) he then went out 0 - 4 to Fabian Roosenbrand (Holland), Fabian taking out a 160 shot out in the first leg with Tony on a double.

John Walton - Enjoyed wins over Geert De Vos (Belgium) and Gareth Holt (Wales) before going out 2 - 4 to Stig Jorgensen, John missing one dart at a double to make it three each only to see his opponent take out a 100 shot out to take the match.

Lisa Ashton - Enjoyed wins over Valeda Gaiga (Italy) and Mette Funch (Denmark) to set up a quarter final clash with Carina Ekberg (Sweden). This was a chance to avenge the defeat in the pairs and it was to be the case as Lisa took the match 4 - 0 with a 106 finish in the final leg to move into a match against Susanna Young (Scotland) in the semi finals on finals day.

Trina Gulliver - Beat Nora Fekete (Hungary) to set up a match with Jan Robbins (Wales) and the match went the full seven legs but missed doubles from both players meant a tense finish before Jan took the match 4 - 3.

The men's pairs was the final action of the day and whilst there was a disappointing start for Tony O'Shea & Darryl Fitton as they lost in their opening match to a Belgian pair, our other pair Martin Adams & John Walton never really looked troubled as they beat pairings from the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Scotland and Sweden to book a place in Saturdays final against the Finnish pairing of Kantele & Komula.

The day started off with the men's four man team and England were in a potentially hard group of Sweden, Hungary, Russia, Gibraltar and Wales. The team moved effortless through the group with wins in their first four games to set up a group decider against Wales who had also won all four of their games. This meant that both teams were through to the quarter finals, however the winner would go through to play the runners up of group 1, it was a close match that England eventually narrowly won 9 - 7.

The group 1 runners up turned out to be old rivals Scotland and once again it was a match that was to go all the way to the deciding 17th leg. The two players picked by their respective Countries were Tony O'Shea (England) and Ross Montgomery (Scotland) and it was Ross who eventually won the bull to start the deciding leg and he took full advantage by scoring 140, 140, 140 and 81 out in two darts for a 11 dart leg that knocked England out of the four man team event.

During the day's matches both John Walton and Darryl Fitton had a 156 shot out.

The Ladies first matches were in the round robin pairs event where they were in a group alongside Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Latvia and the Czech Republic. They won all four matches dropping just three legs in total to move into the quarter finals where they faced group 4 runners up Sweden.

The England ladies dominated the match and did have five darts to win the match 4 - 2 but Sweden forced the match into a deciding leg, but things still looked good for the girls as their opponents were still sitting on 130 when they were on a double but they could do nothing as Carina Ekberg hit 20, 60 & bull to end our girls efforts in the pairs.

The Europe Cup is staged bi-annually between the World Cup and below are the details of all players who have taken Gold Medals for England in previous Europe Cups since the first event was staged in 1978.
